Job Description
Duration of Contract: Until end of April 2019 with a possibility of extension if funding is secured
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance, on the job training, coaching and mentoring to incentive workers on child protection, parenting, and other PSS supports.
Provide direct psychosocial support to caregivers of beneficiary children.
Design and implement psychosocial activities, including individual and group counseling, parenting activities, etc.
Facilitate play therapy sessions for beneficiary children.
Develop adequate PSS tools.
Facilitate community conversations and awareness raising activities using IEC and public events in collaboration with project staffs and partners on services provided by HI SPT rooms.
Support the mainstreaming of child protection and psychosocial key messages and principles to humanitarian organization operational in the refugee camps.
Conduct regular home to home visits together with the physiotherapists and provide some psychosocial support in their premises.
Participate in activity reporting and lessons learning.
Job Requirements
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in developmental Psychology, Counseling psychology, Sociology, Social Work,
or other related field.
Prior experience of working in refugee and/or emergency context.
Excellent knowledge of Child Protection standards and basic principles.
Excellent knowledge of developmental psychology and developmental need of children under
Good knowledge of PSS (Psychosocial support) in refugee context.
Excellent knowledge of psychosocial support basic principles and PSS key messages to vulnerable children and caregivers.
Excellent knowledge of basic facilitation skills.
Excellent knowledge of safe identification and referral principles.
Desirable
Prior experience of working in emergency context, particularly refugee camps
Knowledge of local language, especially Nuer
