IntroductionHumanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid (HIJRA) is an international humanitarian and development organization that positively contributes towards improving the living standards and conditions of those adversely affected by disasters and conflict in the Horn, East & Central Africa by implementing WASH, Health, Education, Livelihoods, Community service & development and Protection programs in the region for a period of more than 20 years.
Responsibilities
Ensure proper case management and documentation
Coordination of protection activities with partner focal points and through proper referrals
Conduct regular case follow up in the community and with partners
Prepare timely weekly, monthly, quarterly other reports as required
Capacity building of community to participate in their own protection
Prepare and submit timely requisition to enable implementation
From time to time undertake any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor
Contribute to proposal development for the organization
Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, development studies, Law, Human rights or a comparable discipline
At least 3 years of work experience in the same field of development and humanitarian work and NGOs’
Ability to produce high-quality documentation
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid Community Services and Development Officer Jobs in Uganda
Responsibilities
Supervise and oversee the work of Community Services Assistants, ensuring that work and activities progress as agreed and in line with applicable standards.
Continually sensitize Community Services Assistants, refugee’s leadership to the importance of respectful dialogue with refugee community.
In close cooperation with refugee community/committees, develop social recreational and cultural activities in the settlement.
Identify key protection concerns through participatory process for different age, gender and diversity groups among camp population.
Responsible for ensuring that HIJRA has up to date records of refugee camp population, based on UNHCR registration, OPM and leadership structures.
Regular review of registration data, critical analysis of data compared to actual population, and identification of vulnerable groups and individuals for further interventions.
Periodically draft reports on community activities and work plans to the Community Services Manager for donor reporting.
Compilation of all sectoral monthly reports and work plans (WASH, CS/CD and Protection) and submission to Community Services Manager.
Assist and participate in development HIJRA refugee program in consultation with other concerned OPs/IPs
Qualifications
A degree in Development studies.
At least 3 years of working experience in community based development.
Experience working with refugee populations
Experience working overseas in a humanitarian context

Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid Community Services Manager Jobs in Uganda
Responsibilities
Assist all HIJRA units and partners in applying and promoting a community development approach in their work
Support and monitor the Individual Cases Management System in the camps
Supervise Community Officer and Community Assistants
Identify Sector Priorities and contribute to the general organization plans and Budgets inputs
Guide and take lead on Community AGD assessments , profiling, needs and resources
Guide prompt identification and support to the most vulnerable
Develop and strengthen community management structures including mechanisms to ensure
participation of all groups in decision making
Qualifications
A university degree in Development studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Refugee Law or related discipline
At least 4 years of field experience and practical working experience in related areas such as child protection, gender, GBV, and community participation
Experience working with refugee populations
Experience working overseas in a humanitarian context

Responsibilities
Stay abreast of political and social, economic and cultural developments that impact on the protection environment.
Participate in consultative processes with government counterparts, partners and persons of concern to develop and implement community-based protection strategies.
Establish links with inter-agency capacity building initiatives which promote participatory, community-based and AGD approaches.
Establish systems, including those managed by communities, to ensure that individual cases identified at the field level are assessed, referred as appropriate, and followed up using ProGres or other established case management systems.
Advise program/protection unit, country offices and partners, in order to integrate participatory, community-based and AGD approaches in the overall protection delivery strategy.
Map and provide analyses on protection risks to communities of concern as well as their capacities and resources for community-based protection and self-protection initiatives.
Work with implementing and operational partners as well as with displaced and local communities to develop community-owned activities to address, where applicable, the social, educational, psycho-social, cultural, health, organizational and livelihood concerns as well as child protection and prevention and response to GBV.
Implement regular participatory assessments and maintain on-going consultation with persons of concern using multi-functional teams.
Qualifications
A degree in Development studies, Social Sciences or related field.
At least 3 years of working experience.
Experience working overseas in a humanitarian context

Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid Communications and Liaison Assistant Jobs in Uganda
Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of HIJRA communications strategy to promote and publicize the knowledge gathered by the program.
Draft and produce regular editorial support to the development of articles, blogs, reports, technical briefs, newsletters, and other publications.
Write communications pieces (success stories, articles, blog posts, etc.) and create project presentations.
Lead in event design, organization, and facilitation.
Research and identify opportunities for the project to employ new media formats and dissemination channels (podcasts, blogging, webcasts, etc.).
Ensure information on the website is accurate and up to date, and supports the work of the organization
Use social media applications creatively, including managing the organization’s Facebook, Twitter and blog activity
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, International Development, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant experience with 1 years’ experience working directly in communications.
Knowledge of principles, theories and methods of communications, public relations, and journalism.
Articulate and professional in public speaking situations
Demonstrated research, writing and editing experience for both print and web.
