Job Purpose: The Security Manager is accountable for the overall physical security operations of the Bank including management of outsourced
security firms, CCTV Surveillance & supporting in investigations.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring safety and security of Bank assets,
premises, customers and staff, including regular monitoring & managing of surveillance equipment, spot checks and permitting entry & exit of items and individual in/out of premises.
Key Result Areas
Assess security risks & establish policies to prevent dangers like fire bombs, medical emergencies and intrusion;
Research, develop and recommend strategic interventions for security operations with the aim of improving the bank’s security;
Maintain security log, external guard’s deployment log, incident report log, fraudster’s database & occurrence book
Monitors key security trends in the banking sector both locally and internationally and the external environment as a whole, and keep management and staff informed in a timely manner;
Conduct periodic performance reviews of security firms responsible for guarding premises and also those that are responsible for maintaining security gargets (CCTV, fire and alarm systems) in line with SLA.
Continuously monitor the functionality of the existing Bank security equipment and outsourced security vendors gadgets deployed at the Bank
Regularly issue security advisory to staff and customers about imminent security threats/fraudulent activities and guide them on the appropriate counter measures through circulars and sensitizations.
Monitor performance/deployment of external security guards and regally rotate the personnel.
Receive, verify asset movement forms and duly authorise transfer/ movement of the assets with in and out of bank premises
Engage contracted service providers to carry out routine service & diagnosis of all bank security equipment.
Support in investigations in liaison with
the investigation unit of the bank and any government security organ.
Report any security incidents to management and provide probable solutions
Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Person specifications
Education & Training
• A relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised university /institution
• Qualifications and/or certification in security and risk management trainings is required.
Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a reputable organisation and of which 5 years should be in a supervisory role
• CCTV management knowledge and experience of a minimum of 3 years is a MUST
