Project OverviewThe Addressing Child Trafficking and Slavery (ACTS) project (Proposal) will deliver an integrated suite of activities at multiple levels in order to address issues surrounding the commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking of children in Kampala.
It will aim to reduce vulnerability of children and households to trafficking and exploitation through sustainable reintegration and economic strengthening, standardize trauma-informed care for survivors of trafficking across multiple structures to enable better support and navigation through justice systems and referral services.
It will also ensure practitioners respond effectively to victims and survivors of trafficking through engagement with and immersive training in trauma-informed care models.
Responsibilities
Subject to funding, Hope for Justice is seeking a person to manage project implementation and facilitate learning and advocacy within an NGO environment.
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing overall oversight of the project implementation, learning and grant management.
The key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Monitor project delivery, coordinating with partners to ensure it stays within the agreed scope, budget and timeframes **
Line manage project staff and provide clear leadership to the project team**
Compile regular accurate and timely grant reports in compliance with the donor requirements
Manage learning and advocacy activities within the project in order to improve nationwide standards of care for survivors and victims of trafficking and slavery and to ensure best practice in the field of commercial
sexual exploitation of children /trafficking victim care.
Build relationships with key stakeholders such as government, law enforcement sector and practitioners to support the development and adoption of improved nationwide standards of care for survivors and victims of trafficking and slavery
Required Qualifications
Essential
A degree in a relevant field, preferably social work, or in behavioral or social sciences
Experience of managing projects related to child protection
Experience of managing significant grants (>£1M) within an NGO environment
Experience of managing a consortium of partner organisations
Experience of leading learning activities to ensure information is utilised to improve service delivery
Experience of working alongside government officials and other NGOs to achieve mutual goals
Understanding and experience of safeguarding
Capacity to write clear and relevant reports with a high level of English
Strong communication skills including oral presentation skills, interpersonal and relational skills
Desirable
Experience of managing projects related to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of children/ trafficking in persons
