HJFMRI Clinical Officer (Reproductive Health) Job in Kenya
Job Summary: To conduct HIV and other health related research activities; and manage clinical trial participants in the Clinical Research Center.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical care to study participants
Observe good clinical practice.
Provide reproductive health care to study participants
Participate in other routine clinic activities including but not limited to:
Obtaining patient vital signs (i.e. blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, temperature, height and weight), Phlebotomy/collection of laboratory specimens;
Review of laboratory results; scheduling appointments;
Assist the clinic team in tracking patients lost to follow-up.
Provide counseling on HIV, pregnancy and birth control measures to participants
Maintain study participants’ confidentiality.
Perform any other relevant duty assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma In Clinical Medicine (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Higher Diploma training in Reproductive Health
Must be registered with the Clinical Officers council of Kenya and have a valid practice license.
Experience with dinical research protocols Is an added advantage
At least 1 year of reproductive health-related work experience in a busy hospital and or Clinical Research, and provision of HIV related care and support.
Knowledge of good clinical practices (GCP) concepts.
Required Skills
Excellent communication skills (writing, reading, and presenting) in English and Kiswahili.
Basic computer application skills In MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Self-driven and a team player.
Excellent planning, organization and interpersonal skills.
Terms of Employment: 1-year renewable contract. The first three months will be probation period.

Job Summary: To participate in conducting human research clinical trials, by managing and providing medical and psychosocial counseling to study participants
Main Duties and
Responsibilities
Screen, brief and consent potential research participants.
Direct participants within the clinic and oversee the flow in the clinic.
Provide HIV pre-test and post-test counseling to study participants.
Perform adherence assessment and counseling as well as the necessary ongoing support counseling for HIV Positives.
Participate in other routine clinic activities including but not limited to:
Obtaining participant vital signs (i.e. blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, temperature, height and weight); phlebotomy/collection of laboratory specimens;
review of laboratory results; scheduling appointments;
Assisting the clinic team in tracking patients lost to follow-up; inpatient nursing care of participants.
Maintain study participants’ confidentiality.
Observe good clinical practice.
Qualifications and Requirements
At least a diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Must be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya.
At least 1 year related work experience in a busy hospital and or Clinical Research, and provision of l-IIV-related care and support.
Knowledge of good clinical practices (GCP) concepts.
