Job DescriptionDuties and ResponsibilitiesPlans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the production functions of the company in line with the general policies, procedures, and values of the company.
Formulates policies, strategies, and procedures for the production functions of the company and implements upon approval;
Prepares long, medium and short term operation plans of the production operations of the company and ensures their implementation upon approval.
Ensures the design, implementation and maintenance of appropriate systems and procedures to ensure efficient and smooth production flow;
Ensures that the raw materials, inputs, equipment and manpower needed for the targeted production are made available at the required time, quality, quantity and least cost;
Ensures that the production is carried out in the required and specified quality and quantity, and within set timeframe and at minimum cost;
Develops and maintains a conducive working environment for production;
Maintains good working relationships and coordination within the Department and with other departments of the company.
Supervises and coordinates the day to day activities of divisions and services under the Department.
Ensures that the Department is properly organized and staffed to effectively perform its various functions.

Ensures that employees of the Department continuously get the required skill upgrading training.
Participate in the implementation and updating of the company’s Food safety management system activities.
Ensures that safety, hygienic and environmental protection guidelines and regulations are strictly adhered to;
Participates in, directs and implements factory efficiency and productivity improvement and cost reduction studies;
Participates in product development and quality improvement projects and endeavours.
Prepares and submits periodic performance reports on the activities of the Department.
Evaluates the performances of the employees working under his supervision.
Ensures that all problems related to the food safety management system are reported to immediate supervisor and Quality personnel.
Job Requirements
Education
B. Sc in Food Technology & Process Engineering or food science and post-harvest technology, processing technology
Required work experience
2 years of experience
Knowledge of HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 preferred.
