Our Client is a Boys Boarding Christian High School offering National Curriculum 8.4.4 (Form 1-4) and the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) at both Junior and Senior Secondary School Levels located at Kajiado looking to fill the following positions; Caretakers
A Caretaker, or Janitor or a Site Manager, takes care of the security and maintenance of the buildings and facility. Their duties include cleaning, performing simple repairs and maintenance tasks and performing security checks for the buildings in their care.
The Role and Responsibilities
Ensure cleaning the building and supervising a team of Cleaners
Carry out gardening and performing landscape duties and supervising others in these roles
Inspecting and ensuring that all equipment on site including lifts, generators, alarm system, lighting, electric fences, water pumps, fire equipment, etc, are in good working order serviced on time and copies of service sheets are filed on site
Identify areas that require repair or maintenance and immediately raise a requisition for the work.
Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
Monitoring repairs and maintenance to completion by contractors within stipulated deadlines, ensuring that works are done as per the bill of quantities or provided scope and signing of the job card
Liaising with relevant utility providers (Electricity and Water) and monitoring of utility bills in the facility and per household to ensure timely billings and payment.
Opening building at the start of the day and locking all doors and windows when not in
operation
Managing all the Key and security codes for the institutions.
Monitoring and recording of cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required
Adhering to the safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.
Timely issuance of invoices for rent, service charge and utility payments from staff if applicable.
Supervising duties of contracted staff and service providers to ensure service provision at the property is of superior standards.
Maintaining a register of all assets at the property and ensuring they are properly secured and maintained
Prepare any buildings or rooms available for occupancy, ensure they are vacant spaces are routinely cleaned, handover and takeover checklists are signed by any incoming occupant.
Routine report writing and proactively identify problems and communicating occupancy and security issues to the relevant manager.
