We are looking for internationally qualified Elementary Teachers to start as soon as possible. The Elementary curriculum at Heritage is based on the International Primary Curriculum, where students are taught sciences and humanities through a range of hands-on practical learning journeys which foster development in teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving. This is alongside a stand-alone US based English programme and Singapore Maths. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional who is able to inspire students of all abilities. Our teachers must possess passion and enthusiasm to deliver creative and innovative lessons. We would welcome applicants who have a special interest in STEM or performing arts. We expect our teachers to be reflective practitioners who can evaluate their own practice and develop the learning in their classroom. We are also interested in teachers who have experience of using dynamic and creative ways to biblically integrate the curriculum.
Heritage International School is an all-age Christian international school located in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda. It opened in 1994 to support children of ex-pat missionaries but has since expanded
to welcome students of all faiths whilst still remaining true to its core Christian values. We have over 40 nationalities represented and are moving towards our full capacity of 550 students. Each of our Elementary classes holds no more than 20 students per class.
We offer a generous benefits package to our international staff, in addition to a monthly salary, including: return flights per year of contract for employee and up to 2 biological/dependent children, housing, 2 bursaries for staff children, and medical insurance.
Requirements for Applicants:
Enthusiastic and growing Christian with the heart of service
BA(Hons) degree or higher in relevant subject or a BEd degree
Teacher qualification (QTS, PGCE) or full teacher certification from home country
Two years relevant experience preferred
International experience
Two year commitment preferred
Before employment, Professional and Spiritual references will be checked along with a required police check.
