About HENNET: HENNET is a coalition of health Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya HENNET was founded in 2005 to fill a long standing gap in the health sector for coordination and networking among health related CSOs.
HENNET was thus set up as a forum for collaborations, sharing of experiences and advocacy for CSOs dealing with health issues.
HENNET brings together different health oriented CSOs with different interests, but all having a common vision of a “Healthy Kenyan Society”.

About SPAIS PROJECT
Health NGOs Network (HENNET) with funding from UNDP is implementing a Social Accountability Project entitled “Strengthening Public Accountability And Integrity Systems” (SPAIS) in Nairobi and Mombasa Counties.
SPAIS seeks to enhance citizen engagement and participation of health civil society organizations to inform the public, monitor service delivery and promote public accountability in the health sector. This is only realizable by ensuring Strengthened citizen participation and engagement of in government processes, Well-coordinated health sector that is able to undertake their roles effectively, Improved knowledge on Social accountability by citizens, CSOs and governments and enhanced evidence on the utilization of COVID-19 funds.
Consultancy:
HENNET is looking for a reputable consultant Firm to support in the following areas:
Development of a Media Strategy with a lining on Social Accountability for Health.
Train the Media Team with the guidance of the developed media strategy
Develop and disseminate 2 factsheets on allocation, disbursement and utilization of funds meant to support Covid-19 and other health services at both National level, Mombasa and Nairobi Counties
Track and share information on COVID-19/ health funds received both locally and internationally from diverse sources. This should be done two times during this project
Develop a Social Accountability county health performance tool
Facilitate development of a joint work plan to guide the CSOs, FBOs and the private sector as they carryout Social Accountability for health aspects under this project.
Consultancy Objectives:
The Consultancy objectives are threefold and include:
Objective 1: To improve on Media engagement with a clear roadmap and strategy for HENNET.
Objective 2: To build the capacity of the media
fraternity on Social accountability and effective engagement with Health CSOs
Objective 3: To Improve transparency and accountability in the utilization of COVID-19 Funds.
Expected Deliverables:
At the end of the Consultancy period the Consultant will deliver to HENNET the following;
Validated and Clear Media Strategy document.
Training notes and reports
Social Accountability county health performance tool focusing at Nairobi and Mombasa counties
A joint work plan to guide the CSOs, FBOs and private sector under this project
Two(2 )months interval COVID-19 Funds Tracking updated Reports
Two(2) factsheets developed and disseminated
Experiences and Educational Background
The firm must be a registered Company with at least 5 years consulting in the health sector with Non-Governmental organizations in Kenya and understands the sector well.
The Key Consultants must have Master degree in Project Management / Public Health or any other related disciplines.
Expression of Interest:
Interested candidates should submit the following;
A capacity statement indicating relevant qualification, skills, and experience in Media strategy development; budget advocacy particularly for the health sector with demonstrated facilitation and analysis skills.
Curriculum Vitae of at least two facilitator/s relevant with vast experience in the above assignments
A firm with a minimum of 5years’ experience in conducting similar tasks
Copy of registration certificate and KRA PIN number for the firm.
Attach detailed proposal and work plan on how you plan to undertake the work, duration in terms of quarters, month(s) and dates.
The firm must include a broken down cost analysis indicating the professional fee and any other costs that you will need for this work.
Please note the tasks should be concluded latest by December, 2020.
