Responsibilities
Regular inspection and maintenance of overall mechanical and electrical equipment on site.
Upgrading of equipment to meet legislative - and Henkel safety measures
Ensuring compliance of plant tools and equipment
Auditing and compiling routine maintenance program to ensure the faults/observations are addressed
Participate and contribute towards Risk Assessment providing Safety Process Engineering solutions
Active participation and attendance of staff - and safety meetings
Reporting and action timeously on incidents relating to Engineering department.
5S administrator in the engineering department, ensuring 5S methodology is upheld and good housekeeping is achieved.
Evaluating Preventative Maintenance program for effectiveness.
Audit and record preventative maintenance program.
Keep management team abreast on the status of preventative measures and engineering action plans.
Working closely with
manager, supervisors and staff across all levels and departments within the organization to ensure effective problems solving and communication
Liaising with Quality Manager and engineering department on ISO standards.
Cost Control: Assist with sourcing and costing of repairs to ensure optimum pricing.
Administer projects that involved engineering input.
Record keeping of maintenance plans, including training of equipment users, to minimize downtime and increase asset utilization and process improvement.
Involved in design, optimizing and commission of new equipment and processed
General administration e.g. Leave forms, plant board, action registers, jobcard system.
Ensure job card system is adhered and up to date.
Project manage and lead improvement initiatives & plant equipment upgrades within agreed timeframe and budget.
Complete Engineering department monthly report.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Methodical, thorough, meticulous with numbers.
Good knowledge of Autocad (2D/3D) and MS Project.
Above average literacy, numeracy and computer literacy.
Able to work under pressure.
Able to work independently and within a team.
High attention to details.
