Job Context
Between 2009 and 2013, Handicap International was present in Uganda implementing Mine Risk Education activities.
These activities concluded in 2013 when Uganda was declared free of mines in 2012.
In October 2017, HI launched its new programme directed at the refugee response in Arua District, West Nile region, where the organization provided psychosocial support services, community-based rehabilitation, protection of persons with specific needs, and disability inclusion.
In 2019, HI launched 3 projects: an Inclusive Education project in Arua, Moyo and Yumbe Districts, a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support project in the Congolese Refugee Response in Southwest Uganda, and a Women’s Integrated Sexual Health WISH) project covering various districts throughout Uganda.
HI is also launching an innovative project under DFID funding under the Global Disability Innovation Fund: 3D Printing through Emergency Tele Rehab Access (3D-PETRA) which will bring appropriate, life changing orthopaedic devices to people in need in Arua District.
In August 2019, HI will launch an Inclusive Livelihoods project in collaboration with BRAC and NUWODU, the umbrella organization for persons with disabiltiies.
HI Uganda is also the host of Consortia Management Unit for HI’s multi-country project known as Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH).

HI’s Head Office is in Kampala, and the West Nile operations are based in the office in Arua Town.
HI has a deep field station in Omugo settlement were field staff are residing and operating.
Your Mission:
Under the line management of the Country Manager and in close coordination with Logistics, Finance, Human Resources and programmes Departments, the Field Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and ensuring smooth implementation of Humanity & Inclusion’s field operations in adherence to technical, logistic, human resource, administration and security internal and external procedures and regulations.
At local level, the Field Coordinator represents Humanity & Inclusion with relevant stakeholders.
The Field Coordinator manages the operations and support teams based in the area of implementation in Arua, West Nile District, Uganda.
The Field Coordinator manages a team of 5 people directly, considering that the area of Arua has a global team of 40 people.
