Health Service Commission - Senior Medical Social Worker Soroti Regional Referral Hospital Jobs in Uganda



Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA)

    Experience

  • At least three (3) years as a Medical Social Worker.

    Key Competences required for the post

  • Good communication, analytical, advocacy skills and interpersonal skills.

    Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas

  • Participate in planning, budgeting, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating social work activities in the Hospital.

  • Counsel patients and relatives with social needs.

  • Offer psycho-social support, social care and emotional therapy to patients.

  • Liaise with Hospital management in the provision of social services to patients.

  • Carry out home visits to patients/clients.

  • Impart coping skills to patients and relative

  • Participate in research activities.

  • Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.

  • Manage and account for allocated resources.

  • Supervise and appraise staff.

  • Compile and submit reports.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
