Qualification

Bachelors’ Degree in Records and Information Management (BRIM)

Bachelors’ Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS)

Bachelors’ Degree in Records and Archives Management (BRAM)

Experience

At least three (3) years as Medical Records Officer in a Health Institution.

Key Competences required for the post

Keep records and information on patients.

Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas

Participate in research activities.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Manage and account for allocated resources.

Plan, budget, manage, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate medical records activities in the Hospital.

Ensure that records on patients are received, documented, classified and stored.

Ensure confidentiality and safety of records.

Periodically audit records and records systems.

Avail records/information on patients to authorized persons.

Ensure that essential equipment and other supplies for medical records are available.

Promote observance of Professional Codes of Conduct and Ethics by staff under him or her.
