Qualification

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy

    Key Competences required for the post

  • Good communication, interpersonal, team building and counseling skills.

    Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas

  • Advise patients and communities on the proper use and storage of drugs

  • Participate in drugs and clinically related research

  • Impart knowledge and skills to students and staff.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Participate in quality preparation of compounded medicine and infusions and ensure proper storage.

  • Requisition and ensure that supplies are available.

  • Advise and update clinicians on prescriptions.

  • Liaise with Ward management in ensuring that drugs are properly recorded and stored.

  • Participate in planning and budgeting for the Pharmacy Unit and accounts for the medicines and infusions.

  • Compile reports to the Senior Pharmacist.

  • Ensure that equipment is functional and well maintained.

  • Liaise with National Drug Authority in ensuring that all medicines conform to prescribed standards.
