Head of Procurement Job in Kisii, Kenya

Our client is one of the leading hospitals dealing with specialized treatment.


They are expanding their services to Kisii County and are thus looking for Head of Procurement.

The job holder will have overall responsibility for all purchases, all stock taking and all vendors handling and negotiations.

    Reporting:

  • Group Procurement Director in coordination with the Managing Director

    Direct Reports:

  • Procurement team

    Key Result Areas:

  • Ensure the strategic procurement plan for our hospital is roll out.
  • Manage price agreements and contracts as required.
  • Develop key processes, procedures and work templates at Hospital level to ensure.
  • Identifying target markets and developing strategies to communicate with them.
  • Foster savings by using the procurement levers such as standardization, optimization, consolidation and outsourcing.
  • Develop and implement the supplier performance management plan; roll out KPIs and report on performance of suppliers
  • Contribute in building the category management plan.
  • Ensure continuous supply of medical supplies whilst minimizing inventory costs.
  • Co-ordinate the effective resolution of vendor queries & other finance related issues. Assist in the sourcing of products as required.
  • Chair
    the Group procurement committee.
  • Co-ordinate tenders and negotiate with vendors as required.

    Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, supply chain, procurement or an equivalent field.
  • Master’s degree in procurement and supply chain added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years Procurement experience in a Multinational company
  • Good in cost savings
  • Procurement exposure in the healthcare or medical devices & pharmaceuticals industries
  • CIPS qualification is added advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP savvy
  • Member of KISM
