The emergency response component is implemented in the Gambella region:
Physical rehabilitation with the provision of the physiotherapy services for Severely Malnourished Under-5 Children with complications, in the newly open refugee camp of Nguenyyiel – in partnership with ACF
Implementation of WASH interventions inclusive of PWD – in partnership with OXFAM
The 2 projects are implemented in the south Sudanese refugee camp of Nguenyyiel, opened in October 2016 and already hosting more than 50,000 refugees, composed mainly of women and children who have fled the South Sudan Crisis.
The HI project staff based in Gambella composed of:
The HI iWASH team composed of 1 Project Manager (recruited – starting 1 July); 1 Disability Mainstreaming Officer (under recruitment); 1 Accessibility
Officer (under recruitment); 1 Camp Officer (recruited), 1 physiotherapist (under recruitment), 1 rehab. Assistant (under recruitment)
The HI Physiotherapy team composed of a Physical Therapist Technical Support (PTTS) – expatriate position; 1 project manager (recruited); 3 physiotherapists (2 recruited)
Your main responsibilities:
Launching of the HI Gambella’s emergency projects, and ensuring their supervision.
Humanitarian surveillance and analysis regarding his/her geographical area of work.
External representation notably in emergency clusters, under the delegation of the Program Director.
Capacity building of the HI teams – especially the new national Emergency Coordinator.
If needed, support in writing emergency project proposals and with seeking funding.
The hiring of a national Emergency Coordinator being expected during the mission of the Emergency Coordinator, some weeks of mission could be dedicated to the coaching of the newly arrived national Emergency Coordinator.
Your Profile:
You have :
Generalist bachelor’s or master’s degree (Political Science, IFAID, etc.) or a degree in project management (Bioforce, etc.).
3 or 4 years of experience in emergency contexts
Previous experience in coordinating humanitarian projects or as a field coordinator
Project management skills
Management of multidisciplinary teams
