Habitat for Humanity Africa Area Office is currently seeking to recruit a Communications Intern. The intern will be based in Kenya.
Working time: approximately 40hrs per week (flexible)
Duration: 6 months
ResponsibilitiesAs a Communications Intern you will provide support to the Communications team in the Africa Area Office:
Support in development and production of multimedia content including website and social media content for various platforms
Assist in managing and updating the Africa Area Office social media platforms and web page
Assist in production of information and promotional material.
Support with administrative and logistics tasks for the Africa communications unit including support for events and campaigns
Assist in compiling programme case studies and success stories.
Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
BA Degree in Communication or Journalism from a recognized academic institution (Preference will be given to
recent graduates with an interest in working for an INGO)
Excellent command of English (knowledge of French will be an added advantage)
Strong verbal and written communication skills including digital storytelling and content generation
Strong social media management skills
Good photography skills
Good administrative and organizational skills
Ability to use graphics software is an added advantage
Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively with a variety of teams in a multi-cultural work environment.
Ability to travel
