BackgroundGreen Way Farms is a specialty food company that produces premium, organic food products through a network of smallholder Partner Farms. Green Way products are exported to high-end buyers across Europe and the Middle East.
The company currently operates from its Butajira Production Area with a team of 30+ professional staff, 50+ contracted laborers and 100+ Partner Farms.
Green Way operates its flagship Farmer Service Center with a cold store, nursery, and packhouse facilities in Butajira, SNNPR.
As a young, but rapidly growing company, Green Way aspires to become East Africa’s largest smallholder-grown food company, and a premium brand recognized globally for its positive social and environmental impact.
To achieve this vision, over the next 3 years Green Way plans to dramatically scale its Butajira operations, expand to multiple new geographies across Ethiopia and grow its product portfolio to include new and lightly processed food products.
Job RequirementsMission of RoleThe mission of the Supply Chain Officer role is to provide most effective and efficient procurement, procurement process and procedures for quality goods and services, establish high quality supply chain and logistics systems for outputs, minimize product losses & perishability and conduct analysis that improves supply chain efficiency on both Inputs to farms and Outputs from farms.
Responsibilities & Activities Green Way is a growing startup that requires flexibility and self-initiative
from its team. As a result, all Green Way team members are expected to provide active support across departments. In addition to other occasional responsibilities, the key activities and corresponding outcomes for this role include:
Input Procurement Pre-Procurement Activities
With routine communication and planning all purchase requests are collected on time and request summary submitted.
Input suppliers identified, when necessary proforma invoices and samples are collected.
Procurement
Quality and quantity of goods and service are proved to be similar to required specifications.
All updated necessary information and documents are collected from suppliers for input purchased.
Post-procurement
Logistics required for purchased item delivery are
coordinated.
All purchased items are delivered to farm and necessary documents fulfilled - SRV and GRIV
Logistics
Transport Logistics
Arrange transport vehicles when requested for staff transportation, product and input deliveries.
Track the usage and efficiency of vehicles used for transportation and product delivery
Systematically analyse the company usage of fleets
Rented Vehicle Management
Rented vehicles performance and efficiency information is collected and recorded.
Required Experience
Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university in Agricultural Economics, Accounting, Supply chain and Logistics management, Economics or relevant field
At least some experience in working in supply chain and logistics management, purchaser, or another directly related to procurement and logistics management
Experience with process and management of procurement
Experience in identifying, negotiating and analyzing suppliers from product quality, price and potential perspective.
Basic English communication, reading and writing skills
Passion for social and environmental change
Negotiating skills
Multitasking and prioritizing skills
A dedication to honesty, hard work, and commitment.
Preferred Experience
Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university or College with a minimum 3.00 GPA
Experience in working as purchaser or Logistic coordinator in horticulture company in Ethiopia
Basic Microsoft office using skill

This position is based full time in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to Butajira, SNNP Region
