Job DescriptionGreek Community School is one of the leading schools in Addis Ababa that has served the community for more than a century. We are seeking experienced candidates to fill the following positions.
Job SummaryThe Principal is outright responsible for managing the GCS with full autonomy. He/she oversees the entire range of educational services, ensuring a safe learning environment and setting performance goals for both students and teachers, and overseeing the process to ensure that the Association's mission is met.
Key Responsibilities and KPIsEnsure and enhance the quality of education with the collaboration of the concerned parties.
Ensure that school facilities remain safe for students and faculty and plan regular maintenance of school grounds and equipment.
Assure the overall quality of education and make sure the Cambridge system is running smoothly in close collaboration with the Academic Coordinator.
Delegate the academic coordinator in the event of an absence or for matters requiring distilled expertise.
Oversee the recruitment of students for the Greek Section and ensure required inputs are allocated for the smooth running of the program.
Oversee daily school operations.
Manage school logistics and budgets.
Set learning goals for students and teachers based on the approved curriculum.
Monitor and report on teachers' performance.
Present data on school performance to the GM
Take the initiative to develop new resources and techniques to improve teaching
Interview and hire school personnel
Review and implement school policies
Give guidance and counseling to teachers
Handle emergencies
and school crises
Provide job descriptions and make a contractual agreement with each staff member that is found under the reporting relationship.
Prepares job descriptions for newly formed positions.
Plan school functions and assemblies.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g., by implementing hygiene rules).
Attend conferences to gain knowledge of current educational trends.
Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor

Job Requirements
Qualifications
MA/MSC/BA/BSC in Educational Administration/Management/Planning
Experience
A minimum of 10/12 years of related teaching and educational administration experience is required.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities
Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations
Practical experience with Microsoft Office and other educational management systems
Proven leadership skills
Attention to detail
Great presentation and communication skills.
Crisis management
Ability to coach and inspire
