Overall Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Grants, the Grants Manager will be responsible for coordination and management of all financial aspects of the program by operationalizing program grants management systems to ensure there is full compliance with contract obligations and that all funds utilized are well documented, accounted for and reported.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and provide technical support to both Grant accountants & Regional grants officers.
Ensure all Sub-recipients work plans and budgets are done and submitted on time to Head of Grants for finalisation.
Prepare monthly management reports and submit to Head of Grants for finalisation and sharing with senior management and entire program team.
Manage day to day Program audits to PR and SRs in liaison with the Finance and Internal Audit Departments and ensure the program if cleared in all audits to the PR and SRs.
Take lead in review of the Progress Update & Disbursement Request report with the Local Fund Agent.
Ensure Funds disbursement requests & processing of the same to the Sub-recipients is done on time.
Do a final review of Sub-recipients monthly reports and post the same in Navision System.
Work with the procurement department to ensure all purchase requests for the program are serviced on time and as per the KRCS Procurement policies and guidelines.
Manage Financial Documentation and reconciliations for optimal grants reporting by both Principal Recipient and Sub-recipient to minimise on questionable costs to the program.
Monitor and track monthly utilisation of CSOs/Non state Actors capital and operational expenditure against approved plans and ensure compliance
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent qualifications.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent membership to a relevant professional body
Over five (3) years relevant experience in areas of grant management coupled with programme management including Monitoring and Evaluation.
Previous work in HIV
and or Health grant programs will be an added advantage.

Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Kiswahili, including ability to develop reports and prepare relevant publications
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and political issues and ability to influence and resolve differences and conflicts
Ability to build alliances and promote open communication and collaboration to achieve joint objectives
Demonstrated technical expertise in strategic management, project planning and budgeting, resource management, implementation ability as well as programme monitoring and evaluation
Ability to develop and implement performance management system, giving candid performance feedback and supporting professional development efforts
Ability to maintain high standards of personal integrity, establish straightforward, productive relationships; treat staff with fairness and respect, demonstrate sensitivity for ethnic, cultural and gender differences
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, data-base, email and utilization of the internet
Considerable knowledge of management information systems, proficiency in database systems, spreadsheet and flow chart applications, and budgeting.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, analyse financial and operational data and information, think analytically and critically.
