Gourmet Burger Restaurant Line Cook Jobs in Nairobi


Our client is a gourmet burger restaurant founded in 2016 specializing in African influenced burgers, sides and drinks is looking to recruit a Line Cook.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, making beef patties etc.)
  • Cooking food with various utensils or grillers
    Check food while cooking to stir or turn
  • Flexible to help with morning prep
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Stock take and handovers
  • Monitor stock and alert Kitchen Supervisor of any shortages

    Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
  • Minimum experience of 1 year as a cook.
  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware
    Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation ad health and hygiene procedures
  • Ability to take criticism positively and make changes to practice accordingly
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
