About GOAL

GOAL implements a range of multi-sectoral development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues including gender, accountably, child protection, HIV/AIDS.

Currently, we work with pastoralist, agro-pastoral, pastoral dropouts, rural small holder farmers, rural/urban youth and street children to respond to humanitarian crises and build resilience in Ethiopia working closely with local communities, local government, donors and other key actors.

About the Position:

The Handyman will undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of GOAL Ethiopia premises; Plumbing, Electrical and Carpentry works. Ensure site clearance upon any maintenance/repairs at the premises.

Certificate, Diploma or equivalent on electrical, carpentry and plumbing works

Proven experience as handyman; electrician, carpentry and plumbing works with minimum of 3 years for Diploma 3 years and 5 Years for certificate.

Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment

Good communication ability

Well-organized with strong general repair skills and apt

in problem-solving

Keen eye for detail and physical endurance are valued greatly in this role

Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction

Desirable qualities, skills and competences:

Certification in electrical, plumbing and carpentry works
