The Role

The successful incumbent will manage the development, control and execution of all budgetary matters relating to the Smelter's construction and operation. The incumbent supervises specialists, and the scope/portfolio of this role includes the management of estimates, tenders, budgeting and settlement of work done.

The Key Responsibilities

Render budgeting services to production.

Deliver on the operating plan.

Monitor costs or expenses within the approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste.

Support the Transformation agenda.

Integrate HSEQ into all work processes.

Adhere to and improve reporting processes for the area of responsibility.

The Requirements

BSc in Civil, EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) Engineering with budgetary specialisation.

More than 5 years’ working experience in budget and settlement management, preferably within a copper smelter.

Experience in the mining environment is highly advantageous.

English as the working language. Mandarin, French, Swahili advantageous.

Project maintenance planning and settlement management discipline.

Maintenance planning and cost control.

Bidding / Tender documentation preparation.
