Job Purpose:

Brings deep therapeutic area expertise into the company and uses that expertise to add value internally by contributing to GSK medical/commercial strategy development and execution, and externally through engagement with HCPs, academics, opinion leaders and other stakeholders.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Leverages therapeutic area expertise to ensure GSK produces best in class, customer-centric medical and commercial strategies and tactics.
  • Speaks at congresses, symposia, webinars and other internal or external meetings. Topics may vary from purely scientific to GSK product-focused talks.
  • Supports Commercial Excellence teams in ensuring sales and marketing personnel have a depth of understanding that enables them to conduct their roles successfully.
  • Engages with opinion leaders and academics to align GSKs research agenda to local research priorities. This may include supporting implementation of a GSK clinical trials program or an investigator sponsored study.
  • Works closely with commercial teams to ensure robust country plan development and execution.
  • Ensures that all activities undertaken are within the bounds of GSK local and/or international ethical standards.
  • Align and advise the proper use and promotion of GSK products with external stakeholders.

    Complexity:
  • Job requires in-depth knowledge in the respiratory portfolio with understanding of guidelines/trends.
  • The job requires
    contacts at the highest level within the medical fraternity.
  • The Job holder must ensure they are up to date with best practice trends and have the ability to network with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Advises management on policy interpretation and recommends changes to Medical policies.
  • Analyses medical information and management thereof.
  • Develops private-public-partnerships with the regulators and Ministries of Health.

    Basic qualifications:
  • MBChB equivalent or more.
  • Registration with KMPDB
  • Great communication/presentation skills
  • Fluent in English

    Preferred qualifications:
  • Strategic thinker
  • Industry experience of at least 1-2 years
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • Good negotiation skills
