The Civil Society in Uganda Support Program aims to strengthen civil society's capacity in Uganda.
This is done in three fields of action 1) promotion of the framework conditions for civic engagement, 2) improvement of the participation of civil society in political processes and 3) promotion of internal organizational development, service provision and advocacy of civil society actors.
In order to achieve this, state and civil society actors at national and subnational level are supported in intensifying and targeting the joint dialogue on the role of civil society and in involving civil society issues more effectively in political processes.
Your Tasks
Strengthen the internal organization of civil society actors to make services and advocacy more efficient and consistent with the needs and interests of their members and the sector concerned
Participation in a team with civil society organizations (CGOs) eligible for selection
Organizational analysis of civil society actors and the resulting needs for promotion through change projects
Support of selected CSOs in the team with the national GIZ consultant in the creation of change projects, agreement on measures and their joint implementation
Planning and organization of identified capacity development measures in coordination with training institutes and an expert pool
Using the synergies and replicating good insights and experiences in exchange with colleagues of the program
Your Profile
Fachhochschul- or Hochschulabschluss in Social Sciences or Political Science or comparable qualification
or particularly strong practical experience in civil society
Several years of professional experience in organizational development and experience in knowledge management of organizations
Sovereignty combined with high frustration tolerance and flexibility
Dialogue oriented, open and proactive communication approach
Work experience in developing countries, especially in southern Africa
High inter- and socio-cultural competence

The GIZ Development Service welcomes applicants who have completed vocational training and / or completed studies and have at least two years of relevant professional experience.
You also have German citizenship or the citizenship of another EU member state.
