Job Description

GITEC-IGIP GmbH, a leading and renowned German consulting company with a long-standing record in the international development business, requires services of national non-key experts (m/f) from Ethiopia for intermittent short-term specialist inputs.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The non-key expert needs to cover one or more of the following areas of support:

Setting-up national Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems and the subsequent quality insurance processes;

MRV's AFOLU data acquisition and elaboration from line Ministries using remote sensing and satellites data;

IPCC compliant reporting, climate reporting (National Communications and Biennial Update Reports);

Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environment Assessment;

Energy audit and energy efficiency for industry plants;

Fuel switch in the cement production;

Mainstreaming of climate change in sectoral annual budgets and plans;

Climate change expenditure tracking;

Designing, reviewing and implementing capacity building activities;

Communication and visibility;

Procurement expertise, in

particular for IT systems.

Job Requirements

Specific professional experience

Minimum a bachelor degree in the relevant fields

Proficiency in English (at least working level)

Minimum five years of proven experience on the specific area of support

Independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities they take on.
