The Context

Our goal is to design and build a campaign that reintroduces Big Sis to our audience and emphasizes the role she plays in connecting girls to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services. In collaboration with MSSA, we are expanding our partnership to provide a toll-free helpline staffed by trained agents. This initiative aims to connect young people to reliable, confidential, and high-quality services.

We need a creative and experienced Talent Manager to oversee the production of influencer content on social media for Big Sis.

The Campaign: Big Sis has gotchu!

Objectives

  • Work with a Health Expert to create content across Instagram, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube that answers some of the frequently asked questions that come across Big Sis. As well as explainers on expectations and procedures to be followed when accessing services.

  • We want to collaborate with young female creators/influencers across Instagram, TikTok and Youtube. These creators will use their active digital presence and high engagement to -

  • Create content centered around interacting with Big Sis and SRH services

  • Share their own stories of engaging with services.

  • Encouraging their followers to share their own stories accessing and using SRH services.

  • Who are we looking to collaborate with a mix of influencers -

  • Nano influencers with <10K followers who are active and growing

  • Influencers with <100K followers who will help in driving awareness and eyeballs to the film and the stories of young girls.

    We want to build a campaign showcasing real, relatable stories of young women that our audience can relate to and can be inspired by. We want these series of girl stories to be self-shot, short format videos (reels/shorts). A shortlist of 5-10 content creators who will be ready to tell us their stories about their journey through their lives. Some thought starters would be:

  • How did you start? What problems did you face?

  • Where do you find the support to keep going?

  • What do you want to tell your younger self today?

  • Who inspires/d you the most in life?

  • What, according to you, is the most important factor behind your success?

  • Your success mantra?

    The Scope

    We are looking for a partner who will manage the girl creators from identification to reporting, with cost efficiency at the core of it all.

  • Working with the Big Sis team to understand the campaign brief and coming up with a punchy, motivating brief to approach influencers

  • Identifying 15 micro & macro content creator girls from different parts of the Western Cape. Shortlisting 8 girls with the support of Big Sis create team.

  • Working with the Big Sis team on messaging for the influencers

  • Working with girls to complete end-to-end production of short format vertical video (reels/shorts)

  • Managing the content approval process with support from the Big Sis Create team

  • Managing the rollout of the content across platforms and connecting that with the campaign rollout calendar for Big Sis

  • Tracking and reporting (daily, weekly and campaign closing) of the activities

    Deliverables from Creators:

    Content that will be produced by various creators and influencers will be on shared across YouTube, Instagram(story and posts), TikTok and Twitter.

    We don’t have success metrics yet for SA. We can define them simultaneously if possible.

    Important:: Consultants must be available from July 2023 and be able to jump onto projects with a lead time of no more than 2 weeks until October 2023.

    Expected Commitment

  • The assignment will take approximately 3 months to complete.

  • The consultant's assignment period is from July 2023 to October 2023.

    Who You Are

    Skills and expertise:

  • Effective communicator and writer in English and Zulu with the ability to synthesize, communicate and simplify complex language concepts as per the needs of girls and young women.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and experience working in a multicultural team across multiple countries. Sensitivity to cultural differences is essential.

  • Experience
    in health-related content/Behavior change content production in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Economic Empowerment would be a massive bonus.

  • A deep understanding of the social media and entertainment industry, including knowledge of different sectors such as music, film, television, radio, or influencers.

  • Building strong relationships with industry creatives, such as bloggers, influencers, producers, and photographers.

  • Effective project management skills to plan, prioritize, and allocate time to tasks and activities to achieve milestones and goals within a tight timeline.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with creatives and the Big Sis team. Adept at articulating ideas, presenting opportunities, and maintaining positive relationships.

  • Up to date and adaptable to changing trends, emerging platforms, and new opportunities within the social media space for our target market-adolescent girls.

  • Basic safeguarding and digital safeguarding knowledge are a plus.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Suite, Asana, and Slack is an added bonus.

  • Ability to be flexible within a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Commitment to realizing the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect

    Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience managing talent, influencers & celebrities' social media and previous work experience in one of our geos is an advantage.

  • Experience & proven success managing large social media campaigns, working with complex, multi-geography projects with multiple stakeholders,

  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity about the cultures within which Girl Effect operates,

  • Experience working remotely with colleagues and/or field agencies and the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams with varying expertise, skills and backgrounds,

  • Creative and inquisitive mindset,

  • Ability to communicate and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, consultants, vendors and clients,

  • Commitment to realizing the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect.
