Job SummaryThe Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the running of the day-to-day operations of the factory on a full-time basis.
This position reports directly to the Factory General Manager and to the Corporate Managing Director, who will work to implement the factory’s standard operating procedures, quality standards, Company policy, financial policy and logistics of GNM.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Providing and overseeing management and leadership to the Factory General Manager and
Group Managing Director other Corporate senior management members
Coordinating the provision of company management and in areas of key company units:
Planning, Production, Financial Management, Sales & Marketing, and Distribution
Working closely with team members such as General Manager, Logistics Manager, and Finance Manager to support all operational activities as directed
Overseeing the implementation of action plans of key company units to ensure that they align to the strategic plan and progress on track
Implementing annual strategies that GNM leadership team has designed for achievement of performance targets and support
Planning, organizing, directing and controlling the activities of all departments of GNM
Providing accurate and timely financials and operational analysis and reports on a weekly basis to the management team
Assisting the leadership team in providing accurate and timely management reports monthly to the Group Managing Director
Participating in determining technical standards for departmental work and compliance
Designing and periodically updating the Company’s standard operating procedures
Developing reporting tools and models to improve efficiency
Ensuring that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with regulations and laws governing business operations
Assessing project and resource requirements (for example, matching different criteria’s to the customers wants and needs)
Managing both raw materials, packaging materials, and final product.
Consult on hiring the necessary personnel.
Monitor the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and to notify when there needs to be a repair or replace the equipment when needed.
Manage the production requirements and achieving the production targets.
Ensure Quality assurance are met as per the standards, certifications and best practices.
Training of skilled and unskilled employees for all
functions of the Company’s manufacturing facility; Coordination of work schedules.
Design and implement best practices so that workers achieve consistent production and product quality to match and exceed customer specifications.
Implement systems and procedures to ensure efficient operation of manufacturing operations of the factory.
Track and optimize costs.
Analysis of line performance/efficacy/labor performance and down time analysis-corrective action plans.
Maintain all necessary records to ensure effective monitoring of the manufacturing process in the factory.
Prepare daily production reports and monthly reports and sending them to the Factory General Manager.
Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation.
Coordinate with all the supporting departments in achieving target efficiency and reducing cost of operations.
Provide direction, development and leadership to factory supervisors and key staff and assist with problem resolution when needed.
Other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned
Job Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications
University MSc/MA degree or BSC/BA in technology/ economics/ business administration/ management/ or related sciences and business fields;
Related experience of 7 years for MSc/MA and 10 years for BSc/BA
Experience in a senior management position
Proven leadership skills in a factory setting and managing a large workforce - to be witnessed by previous immediate supervisor(s) or employer(s)
Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity
Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Core Values
Be proficient in Microsoft office applications and Factory software systems
Able to plan and manage human resources and logistics, including a basic understanding of accounting.
Be a good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Exemplary in analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
