Job Summary:

GIBB requires a Project Planner to plan and schedule project activities, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing project plans and schedules, taking into consideration project scope, objectives, and constraints.

  • Identifying and defining project tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements.

  • Estimating project timelines and resource requirements and developing project budgets.

  • Developing project reports and status updates and presenting them to project stakeholders and management.

  • Monitoring project progress and identifying potential issues or risks, and taking corrective action as required.

  • Coordinating with project teams to ensure that project schedules and plans are being followed, and that project deliverables are on track.

  • Updating project schedules and plans as required to reflect changes in project scope, objectives, or constraints.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency and effectiveness, and making recommendations for process improvements.

  • Participating in project team meetings and providing guidance and support on project planning and scheduling.

  • Ensuring compliance with project management standards and best practices.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or BTech (Civil, Elec, Mech, QS, Commerce). Must provide Certificate with transcript

  • A relevant degree or certification in project management, engineering, or a related field is required.

  • Registered with ECSA/SACPQSP as a Professional is advantageous. Must provide Certificate with registration number

  • Registered with PMI advantageous.

  • Matric. Must provide Certificate with results

  • Experience within the Built Environment

  • 5 – 10 years’ Project Planner experience

    Core Competencies/Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Have knowledge of project management principles, such as scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Must be able to guide and lead supporting staff.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools is also required.

  • Must have MS Office experience.
