GDC SACCO Ltd (formerly Githunguri Dairy & Community Sacco Ltd) is a licensed deposit taking medium sized and rapidly growing financial institution with its head office in Githunguri town and branches spread within Kiambu and Nakuru Counties.

As a result of our growth and expansion, which has resulted to increased workforce we are looking for suitable candidate to fill below position;

Human Resource Officer

Role Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the HR officer will provide leadership and technical support in Human resource management and ensure the SACCO has competent, engaged and productive human capital.

Responsibilities

Lead and provide thought leadership in the development and implementation of human resource strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve GDC Sacco strategic objectives.

Develop Society human resources strategies through analysis, strategic thinking and direction and; establishment of human resources objectives in line with Society’s objectives.

Staff management involving implementation and analysis of performance, evaluation process, staff development programmes, managing the annual training budget, assessing competency, skill gaps, coordination of learning and motivational programmes.

Fostering the workplace environment consistent with GDC Sacco mission, vision and value; enabling motivation, productivity, loyalty and safety of employees in every area of the Society.

Ensure continuous development and maintenance of an effective performance management system.

Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate change management initiatives.

Managing employee performance, conducting

human resource audit and training needs assessment and staff development programmes.

Appraise and advise CEO and Board on emerging HR issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and Diploma in Human Resource Management
Member of the IHRM (K) with a practicing certificate.

Three (3) years’ of working experience, two (2) of which should be at a similar position in a financial institution.

In-depth knowledge of the relevant labour laws and the ability to implement change.

Team player with excellent, leadership, negotiation, communication and decision making skills

Proficient in MS Office applications and working knowledge of HRM software.
