Job Purpose: We are looking for a creative and inspired architect to handle projects from the initial client briefing through to the final stages of construction. The architect's responsibilities include managing client relationships, developing and presenting design proposals, preparing drawings, specifications, budgets, construction documents, and managing project teams. One should be able to take ownership of your project, be it the design and construction of a new building, an extension, alterations or a restoration project, and deliver on the client's requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Client Interaction:Conduct meetings with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements.
Collaborate closely with clients to ensure their vision is captured and integrated into the design process.
Project Management:
Take charge of design projects, overseeing them from conceptualisation through to completion.
Develop detailed project plans outlining key milestones and timelines.
Proposal Development:
Formulate and present comprehensive project proposals to clients, incorporating design concepts, timelines, and estimated costs.
Ensure proposals align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Design Adjustments:
Modify and refine designs based on client feedback and evolving project needs.
Work collaboratively with clients to ensure that design adjustments meet their expectations while adhering to architectural principles and regulations.
Documentation:
Prepare accurate and detailed drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Maintain organised and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring accessibility to relevant stakeholders.
Research and Reporting:
Conduct thorough research on project feasibility, environmental impact, and regulatory requirements.
Budget and Timeline Management:
Determine project budgets in collaboration with clients and
stakeholders.
Adhere to budgetary constraints and timelines throughout the project life cycle, making adjustments as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
Lead and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure that designs and construction meet industry standards and client expectations.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure the highest standards of workmanship are maintained.
Qualifications and Skills:
Possession of a degree in architecture or a related field.
Preferred background as an Architect, backed by a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
Proficient in technical drawing, with a proven track record in design, detailing, and/or construction practices.
Exceptional communication and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software such as ArchiCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Newforma, etc.
Familiarity with design applications like 3ds Max, Lumion, SketchUp, Rhino, or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.
Demonstrated creative and visualisation skills.
