GAIN Research Associate, Commercialisation of Biofortified Crops (Knowledge Leadership) Jobs in Kenya
About the Role In 2018 GAIN and HarvestPlus entered into a partnership with a shared ambition to expand coverage of biofortified nutrient dense foods to at least 200 million consumers, initiating activities in six targeted countries where malnutrition is most pervasive. The focus will be on biofortified varieties of six highly promising crops, developed by HarvestPlus and its partners. These crops form the frontline cluster of sentinel nutritious staple crops to be considered for commercialisation at scale by the partnership.
Globally, the Knowledge Leadership (KL) team provides support across all programmatic areas within GAIN, working with programme teams to bring nutrition and related expertise into programme design and delivery and leading on the development and use of learning agendas to inform programme progress and impact. In addition, the KL team supports the implementation and dissemination of research, evaluation and learning activities.
The Research Associate will liaise with the Knowledge Leadership team and Programme Managers in supporting knowledge management, knowledge mobilisation, research, and learning activities under the Commercialisation of Biofortified Crops (CBC) programme.
Role specifics will include;
Conduct reviews of the literature relevant to the CBC programme learning agenda and in response to emerging research questions.
Provide technical and process management support to the planning and implementation of research, evaluation and learning activities related to the CBC programme.
Collaborate
with KL Advisors and Programme Managers while providing technical support to the development and modification of country and global-level performance measurement frameworks.
Quality assure monitoring data and research outputs shared by partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting on project deliverables.
Analyse information collected and prepare reports, briefs, presentations, and other knowledge products to support the dissemination of research and programme findings and learnings.
About You
You will need to be an organised individual with proven ability to deliver reports and must have knowledge of nutrition, public health, agriculture and other food systems.
Minimum Master’s level training in nutrition, public health, agriculture or other relevant field.
Demonstrated experience in knowledge mobilisation, research, programme monitoring, and/or evaluation.
Excellent understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
Demonstrated excellence in communications, research and writing.
