GAIN Invitation for Agency for Radio Spots Production and Broadcasting Jobs in Ethiopia
Purpose of the WorkConsidering the above, GAIN E-PLAN project has been doing a rigorous groundwork activities towards increasing the adoption of Reusable Plastic Crates (RPCs) as a viable strategy to reduce postharvest loss/waste occurring along the supply chain of tomato and related nutritious as well as highly perishable fresh foods and thereby improve their availability and affordability in the food markets.
And hence, the contracting service provider will be tasked with the production and transmission of effective promotional advertisements targeted to increase the adoption of Reusable Plastic Crates (RPCs) by Tomato and related Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (FFVs) supply chain businesses (growers, cooperatives, dealers, transporters, whole sellers, and retailers) based on the communication strategy of GAIN.
Accordingly, the contracting media agency is expected to come up with effective implementation strategy with the following information:
Target Areas: The project target areas are Meki town, East Showa, Oromia Regional State and selected vegetable whole sell and retail markets in Addis Ababa, where target supply chain businesses are operational.
Target Population (promotion): supply chain businesses (growers, cooperatives, dealers, transporters, whole sellers, and retailers) along the Tomato value chain.
Product Positioning: Position replacing the conventional wooden crates with Reusable Plastic Crates (RPCs) as profitable, affordable, sustainable and attractive marketing strategy.
Scope of the Service/ Work
Under the supervision of the GAIN Ethiopia office, the contracting media company will be responsible for
Consult with GAIN team to develop effective storyboard/script for radio and tv adverts to be reviewed and approved by GAIN,
Travel to target areas of work as directed by GAIN to record video/radio interviews with supply chain businesses benefited from the project
Select talents for production, conduct the actual shoot/recording and editing of the ads including adding sounds as to the satisfaction of test audience and GAIN,
Use BCC materials and tools such as RPC’s provided by GAIN as requirement for the production particularly for the TV ad,
Organize and maintain records of interview subjects and preparing material for final video and radio production based on the approved storyboard/script
Produce radio and Tv adverts,
Advise GAIN on the preferred
top prime time for optimal outreach and best impact for each target radio and Tv station
Negotiate with target broadcasting companies, make payment and secure effective airtime
Monitor the effectiveness of airing of radio and tv adverts and provide media monitoring report for both Radio and TV advertisement after airing the ads according to the schedule agreed with GAIN
Job Requirements
Deliverables of the Assignment
Considering the above scope of work, below are the specific deliverables with key indicators the agency is expected to fulfil as part of the assignment:
First draft video and radio advert scripts for 60 secs Radio and Tv advertisements developed in Amharic and Oromifa submitted to GAIN for approval before recording,
Final draft video and radio advert scripts developed in Amharic and Oromifa submitted to GAIN for approval before finalizing the product.
Final 60 secs Tv and radio advert scripts and recordings (video and audio) submitted to GAIN both in hard copy and soft copy as a final approved product, in broadcast quality, in a format compatible for transferring to appropriate formats in Amharic and Oromifa,
Provide soft copies of all video footage recorded during the interviews and shooting,
Secure appropriate airtime with target broadcasters
Ensure effective airing of the advertisements,
Media monitoring report for both Radio and TV advertisement after airing the ads as per the agreed schedule with GAIN,

Late submissions will not be accepted
Technical and Financial proposals must be sent separately through separate email as indicated above; otherwise proposals will be rejected automatically.
