G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated cash management solutions, has a vacancy for a Bag Assembly Technician based at our G4S Deposita operations in Midrand.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Guard Force Commander is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of daily operations within the designated areas of business, in such a manner as to ensure the continuous provision of a professional security service that meets the requirements of the relevant customers.
Responsibilities
Functions of the Position
Manage the smooth day-to-day running of the relevant sites/contracts to ensure profitability
Must peruse/check the occurrence books and sign when visiting sites.
Posting sheets to be signed off daily. Ensure security officers are posted on the sites according to the customer agreements/contracts.
Must check the attendance register. All officers shall sign the register when reporting and after completing a shift.
The instruction book to be perused/checked by the guard force commander and signed by all staff.
Measurement of customer service standards to be complete on daily basis by the guard force commander.
Must ensure that site inventory is used during any formal handing and taking over shifts on all sites.
Must ensure that site inspections are done on every site for all staff during shift changes to ensure all are briefed, correctly dressed/equipped and ready for the shift.
Ensure that pay queries are attended to and that correct payments to security officers are made.
Manage work schedules of direct reports to meet agreed plans, contracts and agreements in a cost effective manner
Ensure that the duty rosters are prepared in time and delivered to security officers on sites.
Authorize the necessary time sheets on a monthly basis.
Analyse the Easy roster system to allocate manpower, over and under postings and rectify any anomalies.
Customer liaison
Ensure that meetings are held with site seniors on a monthly basis and the relevant discussions at the meetings are translated to all the security officers’ ad minutes of meeting recorded.
Customer complaints to be resolved within 2 working days
Ensure the site visits are conducted according to a pre–determined visit plan.
Ensure sites instructions, emergency plans, registers and files are in place according to customer and company requirements.
Ensure site instructions and emergency plans are adhered to by the security officers and supervisors.
Site instructions must be reviewed annually and approved by customer annually.
Ensure that the correct registers and files are placed on site and maintained.
Audits and assessments
Ensure that quality audits are conducted in accordance to audit plan.
Ensure that health and safety
risk assessment are conducted in accordance to company policy.
Ensure that all security officers on sites are aware important/problematic physical risk factors
Complete documentation regarding audits and risk assessment as required.
Ensure all company assets are accounted for, properly handled safeguarded and maintained
Ensure that monthly equipment checks/audits are conducted to ensure it is in good working order.
Monthly reports to be forwarded to relevant logistics/operation clerk.
Ensure that vehicle is inspected on a weekly basis.
Ensure that vehicles are inspected during hand over/ take over (includes complete vehicle inspection)
Ensure that all defects are repaired immediately
Discipline
Guard force commander is responsible and must ensure strict discipline on his sites.
The conducting disciplinary hearings, appeals and grievances according to the company disciplinary code may be required from guard force commander.
Monthly and weekly reports
Guard force commander must ensure that the monthly and weekly reports are completed and forwarded to the respective manager as required.
General
The Guard force commander must ensure that all incidents are reported and properly investigated and finalized within 7 days.
The Guard force commander must also adhere to the US Embassy post orders for GFC.
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the, branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/ committee/ representative/ management
Attend safety education and refresher programmes
Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Wear protective clothing all the time.
Requirements
Matric, National Diploma, Poly Technical or Degree
Computer Literate
PSIRA Grade A
Driver’s License
Minimum of 10 years in Military, Police or similar Guard Force with proven experience in Leadership.
Minimum of 5 years working in Africa Region
Able to speak and read English and Afrikaans
Supervising skills
