Freedom House Chief of Party Jobs in Tanzania


Essential Duties

  • Provide overall leadership and managerial direction and fulfil the diverse managerial requirements of the project;
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations;
  • Assume responsibility for the daily operations of the office, which includes but is not limited to: financial management, general office administration, public relations, and staff management;
  • Network and liaise with consultants, members of governments, civil society organizations, international and regional bodies, and private funders;
  • Proactively seek out new funding opportunities and represent Freedom House before funding organizations;
  • Develop advocacy initiatives to support human rights in Tanzania;
  • Required to travel to project sites within the region;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in international development, rule of law, public policy, political science, public administration, human rights, or other relevant field;

  • At least 10 years of senior-level experience in the design implementation, and management of programs of similar size, complexity, and setting;
  • Demonstrated experience working on youth and/or gender programming, preferred;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in building and maintaining productive working relationships with a wide network of institutional partners and stakeholders, including host governments, civil society partners, and donors;
