Purpose
  • This position exists to ensure that engineering resources are utilised to maintain the plant as planned.

    Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety
  • Maintain FAT safety policy and procedure requirements
  • Promote safety performance
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Do planned task observations
  • Conduct safety meetings
  • Ensure team members wear PPE
  • Investigate incidents/accidents

    Coordinator
  • Liaises with Engineering & Production staff
  • Evaluates condition monitoring statu
  • Issuing of work schedules and job cards
  • Ensures maintenance planning
  • Issues requisitions for spares as require

    Administration
  • Keeps filing system for job cards. Prepares standby lists
  • Compiles weekly artisan utilisation report
  • Prepares month end report for engineer
  • Generates cost report to site manager

    Managing the Team
  • Select and appoint competent and passionate people
  • Assign work
  • Monitor performance & maintain discipline
  • Train and develop team members

    Requirements

    Qualifications
  • N3 Diesel/Mechanical Engineering subjects
  • Trade Test MQA/MERSETA preferred

    Experience
  • Learnership/Apprentice in Mining/construction/transport/plant or
  • manufacturing2 years
  • Artisan 3-5 years in Mining/construction/transport/plant or manufacturing

    Skills, Qualities and Abilities
  • Knowledge of how to investigate incidents/accidents
  • Basic understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering safe practice
  • Good verbal communication
