Job Purpose

The position holder will support the provision of accounting support to the finance department of the various reports, accounts reconciliation in compliance with finance policies and regulations, and the achievement of the finance department objective.

Key Responsibilities

Posting of creditors’ invoices in detail-quantity description, price etc

Input of petty cash vouchers

Update and reconcile cashbook

Maintain the cheque register (offline collection list) on receipt of cheques.

Preparation of new supplier’s forms

Allocate payments to customers

Posting parking fees for vehicles

Filling of purchase invoice, petty cash, bank slips, cash receipts, bank letters

Ensure payment of utility bills

Ensure cheques are signed by the MD record on the delivery book

Debtors reconciliation

Knowledge of imports and exports

Filling of statutory deductions e.g VAT, NSSF, NHIF, NITA, PAYE

Bank reconciliation

Creditors reconciliation

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in Finance or Accounting

CPA/ ACCA

At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting/finance role

Skills & Knowledge

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in accounts-based applications (sage, excel)

Honesty, confidentiality and integrity

Ability to work within strict deadlines

Good organizational and analytical skills

Attention to detail

Team player
