Forcier Consulting Solid Waste Management Expert Jobs in South Sudan

Forcier is seeking a Solid Waste Management Expert for an anticipated Dan Church Aid market assessment in Juba, South Sudan. The assessment will be divided into two parts – 1) a general mapping of the current landscape within the solid waste recycling in Juba, and 2) an in-depth market assessment of plastic + one other identified solid waste group, as well as the development of a business case for the commercialization of up-cycled plastic products in a local market context in Juba.

The position will be on a contract basis and is open to international candidates. It is MANDATORY to have past solid waste management experience for this role.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the market assessment by mapping project objectives, executing data collection methodology, analyzing the performance of project intervention, and suggesting recommendations to improve project effectiveness and efficiency.

Facilitate, validate, clean, and analyze data to provide information for implementation recommendations.

Keep track of project activities as presented in the evaluation methodology.

Conduct regular project/field monitoring visits to discuss the status and/or progress made with relevant stakeholders using M&E reporting tools.

Support staff in the use of monitoring instruments/tools, and on a collection of quality data, ways to document properly and organize and capture program progress.

Work to identify

implementation bottlenecks and recommend solutions, particularly those affecting project objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

Post-graduate level education qualification in related subjects (Business administration, Economics, Development studies, or related);

At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in value chains and markets assessments and a good understanding of the context in South Sudan;

Proven technical knowledge, skills, and experiences in market assessment, inclusive markets system development through community enterprise set-up;

Previous experience in conducting similar assignments and having insights into solid waste management

Practical experiences in working and linking the private sector, local business service providers, and relevant government departments;

Good understanding of the right-based approach, gender, governance, and inclusion;

Strong analytical and reporting skills;

Excellent written and spoken English.
