In Uganda, FH is operational in the Districts of Adjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in Kampala.

External Vacancy AnnouncementFH/Uganda is actively seeking for qualified candidates committed to its Heartbeat and Corporate Strategy to fill the career opening on a rolling basis;
Position Type: Full Time National Staff
Location: Kween
Reports to: Program Area Manager
Contract Length: 2 years (Fixed/with possibility of extension)
Start Date: Immediate
Position Summary:Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Program Area Manager (PAM), Supervise all Education, Youth and Adolescent (EYA) project activities to ensure the project stays on budget, scope and time; Ensure the EYA project is implemented in line with FH’s EYA technical program and strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for Contextualizing and aligning the Education strategies to the requirements and/or policies that the local government has and to the reality of the country.
Trains the staff and volunteers for the appropriate implementation of the sectoral strategies and advise and oversee the effective implementation and management of the EYA components including Gender, inclusion, literacy and
numeracy instruction for teachers and learners, ECD through care groups, out of school learning and empowerment of Youth and Adolescents.

Job Level Specifications
Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian commitment to serving the poor and in full agreement with FH’s Christian beliefs expressed in The Heartbeat.
Demonstrated computer -operating skills, including proficiency in Google platforms, Microsoft Office products, and virtual technologies such as Skype, google meet and/ or Zoom.
A valid motorcycle riding permit, including the ability to ride and care for a motorcycle.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Development/Education, development studies and relevant work experience
A post graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Typically, 4+ years of experience in program management, compliance, financial management experience. Experience with working with private and institutional donors.
Knowledge in value chain development, income generating activities and VSLA is desirable.
Experience in teaching /training adult learners. Training in basic household nutrition practices will be added advantage.
Language Skills
Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is satisfactory.
Ability to speak local language of the area is an added advantage.
