3. International NGO Youth Friendly Service Provider Vacancy in Mombasa Kenya
Our Client, an international NGO whose core business is reproductive health and family planning to the world’s poorest and vulnerable women is seeking to recruit a Youth Friendly Service Provider.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesClient Care
To provide comprehensive client counselling on reproductive health, contraceptive options and other services with a special focus on the Youth and adolescents.
To ensure that all clients are treated with sensitivity, respect, and consideration. If complaints are raised, to be able to effectively manage and resolve them and to promptly refer to the Team Leader if the client complaint continues or is of a serious magnitude.
To maintain the highest possible standard of client care by providing quality care to all clients.
To implement a smooth, efficient client flow to minimize client waiting times.
To monitor and evaluate client care continuously and recommend improvements as necessary.
To provide accurate information to clients, and their families where required, to enable clients to make informed decision about their reproductive & sexual health
Budgetary Control
To ensure sufficient supplies are available to provide services without disruption and that stock is dispensed and counted accurately; stock cards are updated continuously and waste and spoilage of stock (i.e. expired stock) and stock outs are minimized.
To comply with all financial standing operating procedures including accurate and timely management of advances and surrenders required for outreach provision.
Technical & Clinical Service provision
To provide all of the following clinical services to a consistently high standard and in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols:
All methods of short and long-term contraceptive methods, including injections, implants and IUDs.
Removal of implants and IUDs where required.
Assistance with tubal ligation and vasectomy procedures.
Cervical screening, STI screening and treatment and VCT.
To conduct weekly checking of essential equipment, promptly inform the Team Leader of their current status, and following up repairs or maintenance as required.
To carry out all nursing procedures (as laid down in the procedure manual).
To maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control measures.
To ensure instruments are appropriately sterilized and stored in compliance with infection control protocols.
To order medical supplies and consumables in good time to avoid shortage.
To ensure proper storage of medical supplies.
To support clients through the provision of vocal local techniques during procedures.
To attend clinical training and supervision as required.
Record Keeping, reporting and performance management
To ensure accurate client records are maintained in both the client record book and daily register.
To ensure all client information is kept confidential at all times and stored appropriately.
To provide accurate, timely collation of activity data for internal and external reporting purposes.
To analyze activity trends and ensure performance targets are achieved, pro-actively identifying and implementing opportunities for improvements.
To assist in the collection of client feedback data.
Promotional Activities
To fully participate in planned promotional activities including educational and awareness-raising events with clients, community members and other stakeholders.
To positively promote our client as a leading, quality provider of reproductive & sexual health services.
Team Values

To attend & contribute to team meetings and the creation and implementation of work plans.
To continuously strive to improve client satisfaction and deliver client-focused, high quality care.
To support new team members in their induction & orientation and assist with training as required.
Qualification and Experience
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized medical training college.
Bachelor in Nursing will be an added advantage.
Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya
Minimum 2 years’ post training working experience.
Minimum 2 years’ experience of providing contraceptive services including long-term methods (implants and IUDs) – essential
Experience in performing cervical cancer screening is desirable
Experience working with
young people and providing youth friendly services

Duties and Responsibilities
The excellent planning and running of the Outreach Team services to agreed clinical quality standards, inclusive and responsive to difference on the basis of gender, age and people with disabilities
Clear activity plans for the team against contract (when donor funded) requirements, projecting expenditure needs, team and assets needs,
Monthly self-assessments
Training needs analysis completed and planned
Close analysis of client users and actions taken to extend reach to under-served
Accurate and proper information is passed to clients
Participate in planned promotional activities including educational and awareness-raising events with clients, community members and other stakeholders
Assist in conducting client feedback
The efficient delivery of services reaching under-served communities for high impact
Regular efficient and well received services to the target group
Effective use of the services of the regional doctor
Integration and interface with other channels for complementary delivery
Clear engagement of community leaders
A continuous and well planned service where resources are managed prudently, stocks are maintained at efficient
levels and onward growth is enabled
Team financial management effectively enables continuous delivery of agreed plans on budget
Annual procurement plans guided by quality requirements
Stock management with 2 month buffer
Vehicle management shows value for money
Data collection that enables contract obligations to be met, improvements to be made and successes to be shared
Monthly dashboard report tracks performance each month and cumulatively
Data entered on time into CLIC
Data for donor reports collected routinely
Special stories prepared and shared for learning and publicity
Time taken to review and learn
Proper record keeping of clients data and consent forms
Defining and realizing opportunities for sustainability beyond the period of funded work
Close networking with a range of local stakeholders to embed good practice
Promotion of centers, MDs and Social Franchise outlets for long term sustainability
Mentoring of MOH providers
The excellent management of the Outreach team to ensure that they perform at the top of their ability and are fully skilled for their tasks (whatever their role)
Using the team plans and team skills agree individual objectives and follow performance
Regular one-to-one and group meetings
Conduct monthly CME’s as per schedule
Ensure good time keeping is maintained by the team members
Qualification and Experience
Diploma in Clinical medicine or Nursing
Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)or Kenya Registered Clinical Officer
Postgraduate training in sexual reproductive health will be an added advantage.
Proven experience in healthcare field with line management authority
Customer focused service delivery skills
