Job Description

The Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activity, part of the United States Government initiative and Ethiopia’s Agricultural Growth Program II, has the strategic objective of improving smallholder productivity and commercialization.

Implemented by Fintrac Inc. The Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activity is inviting competent candidates to apply for the positions of Copy Editor.

This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated development practitioner to make a real contribution to smallholder commercialization and agriculture transformation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Review of statutory formal reports, especially USAID & AGP quarterly and annual.

Assisting in the production of print, media, and web content, including the writing, editing, formatting, and proofreading of project publications and communications.

Ensuring that all publications and communications produced by the project are of the highest standards set by the project and Fintrac home office.

Evaluating and synthesizing information accurately and working collaboratively with field staff to generate content and with the communications team as required.

Interfacing with all project departments to ensure that all written products, web content and alternative media are clear and well documented.

Researching and providing writing expertise to other assignments as needed.

Job Requirements

This individual should be available to provide these services for maximum of 10 days per month and must be available to work on-site for a portion of this time.

The ideal candidate should be an expat native English speaker, with research, journalism, communications or editing background. Their schedule must be flexible to allow for adhoc requests and be available every month to provide support for major reporting deliverables.

The candidate will also have extensive development experience.
