FilmAid is an international development and humanitarian communications organization that harnesses the power and influence of media and the arts to respond to emergencies as well as promote social change through dialogue in order to protect the well-being of displaced and vulnerable populations by building stronger, healthier, and more informed communities around the world.
FilmAid has been using the power of film and media for 19 years. Its work in social behavior change communication (SBCC) spans more than 12 years.
FilmAid has been working in Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps for 17 years with a wealth of knowledge in behavior and attitudes of refugees and hosting communities concerning their health and social habits.
Specific tasks:
Conduct an audit of FilmAid Kenya’s audio visual equipment in use and exiting practice to inform identifying of training needs
Develop a training manual with clear modules that demonstrate
How audio-visual equipment in FilmAid’s possession are operated/handled in the predominant environments they are held
How equipment are to be cleaned
How the equipment are stored
How the equipment should be serviced
Any other considerations and best practices in audio-visual equipment handling, care and maintenance
Provide a training report at the end of each location training
Produce a trainer of trainers (ToT) manual on audio-visual equipment handling, care and maintenance at the end of the assignment as a guide for future capacity building exercises
Consultant’s profile
Candidates who apply for this consultancy should ideally possess the following qualification:
Familiarity with social marketing methods using mass communication outreach
methods e.g. events and road shows
Previous works in training on equipment use, care and maintenance
Previous works building capacity in Dadaab, Kakuma or remote locations
Practical and technical experience operating audio-visual equipment. Qualification in technical maintenance is an added advantage
Familiarity with code of conduct, child and adult safeguarding principles
Requirements:
The consultant will be expected to submit a proposal indicating the intended methodology to conduct the stated audio-visual equipment audit, training and deliver the ToT Manual.
The methodology should be presented in a clear and simple format.
The proposal should also include a detailed work plan and budget proposal.
