We seek qualified candidates for the position of Administrative and Program Assistant based in the Nairobi, Kenya office supporting the SCS Global activity Safeguarding Democratic Space in Kenya (SADES-K).
FHI 360 seeks an Administrative and Program Assistant for a new activity, Safeguarding Democratic Space in Kenya (SADES-K), which will be implemented from 2018 to 2021.
The overall goal of SADES-K is to enhance Kenya’s ability to hold a national conversation on reforms and national cohesion, and to safeguard democratic gains, including protecting civic space, respect for human rights and observance of rule of law.
Responsibilities:
The Administrative and Program Assistant will:
Assist the Finance Manager and other project staff with day-to-day administration, logistics and procurement tasks.
Gather knowledge of organizational and departmental policies and procedures in order to communicate information involving programs, functions, and services.
Preparation of documents and reports, the use of office technology, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greeting/referring/assisting others, mail distribution, and photocopying.
Collects and verifies data, summarizes and reconciles information or
financial data, records management, review and processing, research and inventory.
Responds to staff requests for administrative support as needed.
Sets up and maintain files, prepares reports, presentations and graphics, provides employees with office supplies, performs data entry, proofreads, and compiles special reports.
Schedules meetings and meeting arrangements.
Prepares and maintains documentation, plans, reports, schedules, databases, spreadsheets, logs, etc. to support functions.
May handle special projects and execute research and data analysis tasks.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in public health or related field and 1-3 years relevant work experience with international development programs
Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English;
Excellent computers skills in MS suite
Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
Experience in office or program administrative procedures
