Introduction Fairtrade Africa (FTA) is the umbrella network organisation representing Fairtrade-certified producers and workers in Africa. Its secretariat office is based in Nairobi. It has four (4) regional offices – Eastern & Central Africa; Southern Africa; Western Africa; and the Middle East and North Africa, with a total 90 staff.
Established in 2005, FTA aims to effectively represent producers and workers within the International Fairtrade system and provide services to them that contribute to the improvement of their livelihoods. **
Scope of Work
The Service Provider will be expected to:
Provide simultaneous interpretation from/into three languages, Arabic, English & French for FTA.
Provide clear and accurate document translations from/into three languages, Arabic, English & French for FTA and submit final and edited versions.
provide and supervise a team of interpreters and translators to cover FTA meetings
Provide simultaneous interpretation equipment to cover FTA meeting proceedings upon request.
Deliverables
Ensure that the interpretations and translations are technically, linguistically, and grammatically correct, error-free and it should meet high-quality standards.
Professional interpretation and translation from/to English, French and Arabic
Provide accurate and timely interpretation and translation to the satisfaction of FTA standards.
Maximum percentage margin of errors per page for translation should not be more than 3 errors.
The translated materials should be provided to FTA after completion of the required services in soft copy
The translation shall be done within the stipulated deadlines in the work order.
Duration
A Service Level Agreement will be signed that is anticipated to run for one year.
Qualifications
Bidders should have a track record in the provision of the Services and preferably possess qualifications as professional conference interpreters. Previous experience with similar organizations will be an
added advantage.
The successful Bidder should have the capacity to provide a credible and appropriate team of English, French and Arabic interpreters, and translators to cover all FTA meetings.
The successful Bidder will be chosen based on the below criteria:
Interpretation of Terms of Reference
Demonstration of the capacity to deliver the Services through previous experience.
Qualifications and track record of potential team.

The organizations/individual detailed profile
List previous and current clients.
Provide two indicative curriculum vitae of translators for your team.
Provide four indicative curriculum vitae of interpreters for your team.
A reference listing of organisations where similar service is being/ has been offered
A Financial proposal that provides a clear breakdown of all fees including any applicable taxes. This should provide the costs of translation from/into three languages, Arabic, English, French per word, cost of interpretation services per person/day and daily charges per unit of simultaneous interpretation equipment.
Valid Certificate of Registration
Tax compliance certificate
