Fairtrade Africa ICT Officer Jobs Opportunities in Kenya

Introduction

Fairtrade Africa works with volunteers to support producer activities across Africa. From time to time we will call on volunteers to join us to support African producers and improve livelihoods. Do you speak French and have some free time? Fairtrade Africa is looking for a volunteer to help us with French translations and proofreading.

Responsibilities

Server Administration

User Administration, Logins, Email Adresses

Change Configurations

System Security and Disaster Recovery

Managing the configuration of backup routines including safe-keeping external
backups and rebuilding files as necessary

Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems

Networking

Trouble Shooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving
hardware or software faults

Managing the TCP/ IP, DNS, DHCP

IT Maintenance

Managing all printers including purchasing, leasing, administration, installation
& configuration of local and network printers

Organize purchase of computer consumables such as tonners

Managing configuration of print clients

Service Providers Management

Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive
prices from supplier to ensure cost effectiveness

Database

Management & Website Support

Working with the regional teams to ensure producer database is updated or
provide assistance to producers

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in ICT

Diploma or Certification/ skills and working knowledge in Hardware, Network
and Operating System Management

Management of data bases and websites

At least 3 years’ hands-on experience with computer networks, network
administration and network installation

Knowledge in IT Regulations in Kenya and System Security/ cyber-crime
prevention
