ObjectivesTo achieve the Purpose of the role, the BD SE is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programmes, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new accounts by performing the following duties personally or through his / her direct reports. Direct reports include COE SEs, BD SEs and BD Support. In additions, establishing and maintaining strategic partnership and alliances will form an increasingly important part of this role’s accountability.
Functions
Directing
Contribute to the creation of the company’s overall Strategy
Develop the company’s strategic marketing and sales plans in consultation with Client, NBD and COE SEs for approval of EXCO
Creation and maintenance of the company’s rolling 12-month revenue forecasts to set financial and market penetration objectives
Management
Accountable for the BDF
Implements strategic marketing and sales plans
Develops and manages NBD and COE operating budgets.
Analyses and controls expenditures of COEs to conform to budgetary requirements.
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Reviews and analyses sales performances against programmes, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
Assists with development of Commission Model to incentivise the required actions.
Sales
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales and goals.
In collaboration with SEs, meets with key clients to maintain key business relationships in Assigned and New Accounts
Assisting COE and Client SEs with establishing and directing Win Teams designing interventions and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates liaison between NBD, COE
and Client SEs.
Delivery
Accountable for profitable delivery and development of Projects / Accounts up to Handover /Assignment point.
Marketing and Knowledge Management
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including events, print, social media, online website, electronic media and direct mail.
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to ensure that marketing objectives are met.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
Arranges, in consultation with SEs, representation of the company at conferences and meetings to promote product.
Monitors competitor sales and marketing activities.
Ensures capture of the company’s historical projects and Case Studies for sales and marketing purposes
Product / Service Offering (SO) Development
Through the COE SEs and SO Execs, directs product research and development.
Develops and recommends product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term profitable market share.
Monitors competitor products activities.
Capacity and Capability
Through the COE SEs, supports the recruitment, coaching and development of the specialist capacity and capability to deliver extend and expand the company’s share of wallet in Assigned and New Accounts
Establishing strategic partnerships and alliances to ensure the company can compete in a broader range of product offerings.
Directs staffing, coaching, training and performance evaluations to develop sales and SO specialist capability and capacity.
Maintains the CV library including those of strategic partners.
