Executive Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance Training for Prospective Insurance Agents in Nairobi County


The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) is a Government agency established under the Insurance Act, CAP. 487 laws of Kenya, to regulate, supervise and develop the insurance industry in Kenya.

In furtherance of its mandate to develop the insurance sector, The Authority, in collaboration with College of Insurance, will conduct a training for prospective insurance salespersons in Nairobi County from 11th - 23rd February, 2019.

The training will culminate to the award of the Executive Certificate of Proficiency (ECOP) in insurance.

The objective of the ECOP training programme is, among others, to:

  • Train 100 residents of Nairobi County to qualify as insurance sales persons Create a positive image of insurance by having well trained and skilled insurance sales persons in the county.
  • Enhance access of insurance services in support of the Government development agenda.
  • The target group for the training is residents of Nairobi County who can demonstrate a serious desire to build a career in insurance sales and have at least a KCSE Certificate or its equivalent.

    How to Apply

  • Applicants must be persons who
    are not yet engaged by any insurance company as sales agents or employees.
  • Interested residents of Nairobi County may collect Application Form for the training from the College of Insurance, Nairobi South C. The Form may also be downloaded from the IRA website and College of Insurance website .
  • Duly completed Form should be returned to the College of Insurance on or before 19th January, 2019 for consideration.
