European Union Secretary (Protocol Matters) Jobs in Kenya


Introduction

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political partnership between 28 European countries. It plays an important role in international affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working with global organisations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in International Relations, Diplomacy and/or Management or related field (eligibility)
  • At least 5 years working experience in an Administration of which 3 years dealing strictly with Protocol matters in a Diplomatic Mission OR International Company/Organisation OR Government Office (eligibility)
  • Excellent knowledge of Protocol matters in a large International Company/Organisation or Diplomatic mission.
  • Excellent knowledge of Administrative/Protocol procedures in line with the Kenya Government regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Kenya Customs and Protocol Procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (working language). A fluent knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Good IT knowledge of MS Office and skills in document management (filing/archiving).
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective network of contacts with various stakeholders.
  • Personal initiative and ability to focus on priorities, to monitor and evaluate progress and to meet deadlines.
  • Open, flexible personality; excellent ability to perform duties with accuracy within a given deadline.
  • A high degree of integrity and the ability to deal with confidential information is required.
