Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of Etno Mining. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, several years of experience in the mining industry, and a strong understanding of Ethiopian tax and accounting regulations.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements and accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness and confirm reporting and procedural standards

Prepare statement of accounts periodically for all debtors & creditors.

Prepare statement of reconciliation for debtors and creditors.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate record-keeping

Manage inter company transactions with Group companies

Manage month end close in a timely and efficient manner together with Group Finance

Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers on a regular basis

Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement to management

Ensure compliance with Ethiopian accounting and tax regulations

Supervise accounting staff and provide training and support as needed

Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting

Participate in the development of

budgets and financial plans

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum 5 years of experience preferably from the mining industry

Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent English oral and written communication skills

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite

IFRS practical training on implementation or at least ACCA active student who passed Financial reporting (FR)
