Job Description

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) wants to recruit employees in the following vacant positions the details of which are mentioned bellow.

About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia.

ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services.

ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 32 Zonal Branches and 112 District/Woreda Branches and 3673 grass root committees/Kebele Red Cross Committees.

Key Performance areas

Studies the overall IHL dissemination activities of the society and prepare plans based on the strategic directions of the society and develops guide line for IHL dissemination of ERCS

Prepare and gives training the governance and management of the society on IHL and other lows and decisions of the movement and other Different Groups.

Aligns the IHL disseminations activates of the legal service with other work units of the populations.

Creates strong relationship with concerned government institutions and works out the possibility of

cooperation.

Make a research on the harmony of the rules and procedure of the ERCS with that of rules and resolutions of the movement.

Represents the society before the court of low in case where shortage of man power happens and the interest of the society so requires.

Willing to give voluntary service to the society with his/her own initiative.

Terms of employment: contract for one year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

LL.M Degree in law especially on Public international law or international Human Rights law

Experience

More than 4 years in low preferably on training, research and teaching. Experience in the humanitarian organization is ad advantages value. other skills include:

Additional Skills

Proficiency in English ( Written and Spoken)

Excellent Written and verbal communication skills

Strong Proficiency in basic PC applications (Excel, Word. Power point ) with a general understanding of data analysis techniques

Ability to conduct extensive research

Ability to make presentations
